In an Australian zoo, the images of a gorilla trying to help an injured bird fly away will melt your heart.
Visitors to a zoo in New South Wales, Australia, witnessed an adorable scene. Indeed, they surprised a gorilla helping an injured bird to fly away.

In a video filmed by a spectator on November 17, 2020, the primate is seen approaching the bird, which is unable to move. Then, the monkey leans gently towards the injured creature, seeming to pay attention to its state of health.
Once the examination is complete, the gorilla brushes the bird’s wings before pushing it forward, in what appears to be an attempt to help it fly. Despite the primate’s best efforts, the bird is unable to take flight.

For its part, the gorilla – believing that its rescue mission was over – returned to go about its business at the bottom of its enclosure.
“It was amazing that such a big animal could be so gentle. He walked over to the bird and tried to help it. When the bird didn’t fly away, the gorilla left without hurting it,” said a witness who missed no crumb of this tender spectacle.
The gorilla is a social animal
The behavior of gorillas is similar to that of humans. These great apes are our closest relatives with bonobos and chimpanzees.
Intelligent and sociable, great apes are able to laugh and cry. According to scientists, great apes also mourn the death of their fellow apes.
