Thailand: a rescuer saves an elephant by giving him a cardiac massage

In Thailand, a rescuer rescued a baby elephant hit by a motorbike. To do this, he gave her a cardiac massage. Without his gesture, the animal would certainly be dead.

The pictures are impressive.

On the evening of December 20, 2020, a rescuer resuscitated a baby elephant in the eastern province of Chanthaburi (Thailand). The pachyderm was hit by a motorbike as it crossed the road with the rest of its herd.

In a video, we see Mana Srivate providing cardiac massage to the injured mammal. For ten minutes, he rhythmically exerted compressions on the body of the baby elephant:

I guessed where an elephant’s heart was based on human theory and a video I had seen online “, told the rescuer to Reuters.

Fortunately, the animal regained consciousness: When I saw the baby start to move, I almost cried “said Mana Srivate.

“It’s my instinct to save lives”

As a precaution, the pachyderm was transported to another location for examination. When he was able to move on his own, the baby was brought back to the accident site.

According to the words of Mana Srivate, the mother of the little one and her congeners returned to the spot when they heard the cries of the little one. Obviously, the rescuer did not miss any crumb of this tender spectacle.

In 26 years of service, the latter has been confronted with dozens of accidents involving “humans”. However, the baby elephant is the only victim he managed to resuscitate by practicing first aid.

“It’s my instinct to save lives, but I was worried all the time because I could hear the mother and other elephants calling for the baby,” he explained.

For his part, the driver of the motorcycle was also taken care of by the rescuers. He had no serious injuries.
