After hard years, he probably thought he would have some peace and quiet. But the reverse happened.
Instead of resting, he was taken to different auctions. And during his trip, he became good friends with the horse Max, who met the same fate.
The horses were so weak and Arthur so tired and hungry he could barely stand.
Meet his hero
But that’s when he least expected to meet his hero.
Cindy Daigre, founder of Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary in Tennessee, was present at one of the auctions and made direct eye contact with Arthur.

She decided to save the horses and as soon as they arrived at her stable, the horses started eating.
As the days passed, the horses got bigger and stronger. And Arthur quickly got back on his feet.
The best friends
But recovery hasn’t been so easy for his best friend Max.
“Max has a back injury with neurological issues. He also has wounds all over his body from previous abuse.”
“He was physically beaten and was so terrified when he arrived that he had no use for people. It was actually dangerous working with him,” Cindy explains.
Although it is difficult to work with these horses, she has seen clear progress. And after only two years of treatment, the horses are healthy, strong and kind.
Today, Max and Arthur are like all other horses and still walk side by side in life. They support each other in difficult times and always stick together.
And Cindy will always be their heroine.
