Cat Adds Live Poisonous Snake to Family Christmas Tree Gifts

A cat’s gift of a poisonous snake was a family’s Christmas surprise after the snake was thrown under their Christmas tree, much to their shock.
A family got an early Christmas present after their cat put a snake under their Christmas tree.

The Queensland family cat grabbed and threw the venomous red-bellied black snake, which measured about 60cm, under the tree.

Family boss Gunter posted photos showing the reptile curled up around the family’s planned pile of gifts.
Mr Gunter said the snake was relatively small in size and like the cat, none of them were harmed in the incident.

He said: “The cat wasn’t bitten and was quite proud of himself.”
He added: “Thankfully the snake had no ill effects on the cat carrying it, the family love snakes but didn’t want to touch it.

“It was an unexpected Christmas present.”
They are known to be dangerous to humans and are also extremely poisonous, with poisoning causing a number of symptoms.

According to the Australian Museum, the symptoms are: bleeding and/or swelling at the bite site, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

According to the doctor, in most cases the bite is not painful and therefore people sometimes do not even realize that they have been bitten.

Gunter had already been bitten by a poisonous snake once last month, and had to go to hospital for treatment. The family who received Chrissy’s gift were “in love with snakes” but “didn’t want to touch it”. Frankly, that’s very fair. The snake was then moved to a stream in a bush. Welcome back to vacation.
