Andy and Thomas Bonura, parents of three cubs, adopted five cubs from the same family, who, left without parents, ended up with different guardians. According to the Bonur spouses, there is nothing unusual in their decision – they have just dreamed of a big family all their lives.
Andy and Thomas Bonura have been married for 15 years. They are parents of three children. After the second birth – twins – doctors warned Andy that she could no longer give birth. But he and Thomas wanted to have lots of little ones in the family, so they decided to adopt.
“I’ve always wanted to adopt a little one, even before I had my own little ones,” Andy says. After the doctors forbade me to give birth, we no longer hesitated: after all, we both wanted a very big family. »
In 2017, Andy and Thomas received adoption clearance and soon adopted a boy named Bryson into the family.
When the couple found out that Bryson had siblings, they decided to adopt them as well. Then two more little ones appeared in the house, David and Gabriel, and the older boys, Thomas and Carter, began to visit them.
When the couple learned that the parents of five siblings had irrevocably abandoned them, they scrambled to arrange for all five to be adopted.
In May 2020, Andy and Thomas officially became parents to their little adoptees.
Now the couple have a very large family with 8 little ones. Thomas and Carter are 8 years old, David is 6 years old, Gabriela is 4 years old and Bryson is 3 years old. In addition, their own little ones live with the spouses – Joey (11 years old), Sadie and Daphne (8 years old each).
“Of course it wasn’t easy,” Andy said. But the hardships we went through helped us to establish a strong bond and sincere trust. »
