The American was in such a rush to take his 3-year-old son to a basketball game for the first time that he came to the stadium right after his shift at the mine. It was covered in coal dust, but it was on time for the game and the kid liked it, and that’s important.
As little ones, we often don’t realize how much our parents sacrifice to make us happy. But this little boy will always remember when his father first brought him to the stadium.
Basketball head coach John Calipari noticed something unusual in the crowd.
A photo taken by John Calipari has melted hearts and gone viral. A regular guy, miner Michael Joe McGuire, walked into the frame, along with his little son.
As it turned out later, Michael, after a long shift in the mine, did not have time to change clothes and was covered with coal dust, but he could not let such a trifle interfere with the trip to the basketball game that her little one was looking forward to.
John Calipari tweeted a photo and said he would give this family VIP tickets so they could continue cheering on their favorite team.
Molly McGuire, Michael’s wife, wrote in a comment on the coach’s post.
“This is my husband Michael McGuire with our son Easton! ” she wrote. And she said Michael hadn’t slept since 4.45am, then rushed to the stadium after a long day at work to watch a basketball game with his family.
“We are truly blessed with such a person and we are very grateful! We love our miner,” she wrote.
He realized that he had become popular on social media only the day after the game. Molly McGuire told reporters that their family’s core values are based on faith, hard work and respect.
We wish the family the best and hope they enjoy the VIP experience! They definitely deserve it!
