Discovering that she was expecting triplets was already a surprise for Becky-Jo Allen. And when little Roman, Rocco and Roan came home from intensive care, another surprise awaited their mom.
Other mothers constantly talked about the similarity of the cubs to each other, and Becki-Jo decided to send DNA samples for analysis. So she learned that we are talking about one in 200 million cases: the triplets turned out to be absolutely identical genetically.
Fortunately for the 23-year-old mother, the characteristic features and the budding character of the little ones allow her not to confuse the little ones with each other. “When they were newborns, it was quite difficult to distinguish them from each other, but I myself never confused them,” says the young mother.
“They all have birthmarks between their eyebrows, but Roman’s is a bit darker than the others, and Roan also has a birthmark on his leg,” she explains.
“When they were in the hospital the doctors said they weren’t identical, but since they came out a lot of people have told me the little ones can’t be told apart. »
“Then it turned out that I was the only one who could tell them apart, and that explains a lot! Miss Allen of Gateacre, Liverpool, who also has a three-year-old daughter, Indiana, had an early ultrasound at nine weeks pregnant due to severe headaches and nausea. It was then that she learned that she was expecting triplets.
Now that the little ones are home, they are starting to show character. “Roan is the loudest, he shouts all the time. Rocco is usually quite calm, but he can also be irritable, and Roman usually doesn’t want to share with anyone,” their mother explains.
“They always crawl after the same toy, trying to get it before the other brothers. Indiana loves them. »
