But for commuters in Cumana, Italy, a trip that seemed like another ordinary trip with nothing special turned into a trip they will never forget.
The train driver’s unusual announcement
Late last month, passengers on the Cumana sat on the train as usual, presumably waiting for the long-awaited next stop that would take them to work, to a close relative, to a friend, or simply the start of life. an aimless journey nearby…
But, coming out of nowhere, they hear the voice of the train driver who begins: “Ladies and gentlemen, good morning”. It’s the train driver talking to you, to tell you that in four stops…”.
A gentleman is filmed gesticulating, probably expecting yet another delay or for the train to be stopped before the destination he wanted to reach.
But on the contrary, it will not be communication.

This gentleman cannot hide his surprise and lets out a laugh, which also infects the lady next door, who also bursts out laughing.
We find the answer in the conductor of the train, Mr. Alfredo Venditti.
“In four stops, I retire, my professional career ends after 34 years in this company”, announces Mr. Venditti to the passengers of the train.
A round of applause rang out and everyone was visibly surprised.

“I won’t leave until I say goodbye to you all. »

The conductor of the train continues his moving message by saying: “I will not leave without saying goodbye to you all and telling you that I have been honored to be able to serve my country and that I have always tried to give my best. -same. Seconds later, the train driver appears before the disbelieving passengers, visibly moved and in tears. Another round of applause begins, even louder than the first.
“I’ve always tried to respect you. Whatever you can say about us. We have always tried to do our duty, ”he said to an audience almost, if not more, moved than him.
He takes his leave, leaving behind a round of applause that doesn’t seem to want to stop.
