When a powerful earthquake struck central Italy four years ago, an elderly woman, Dora, lost everything in the disaster. Not only did she lose her home and properties, but she also lost her beloved cat.
In the chaos and confusion of the disaster, the frightened cat ran away and did not return. Dora thought she had lost her cat forever and would never see her little companion again. This is the most devastating loss for Dota as the cat is a member of her family, who have comforted her with hugs and unconditional love for years.
And then one day, four years after she disappeared, the cat suddenly came home. Dota was stunned to find her beloved cat. They gently touch their foreheads, then the cat begins to cuddle its beloved human. They are visibly delighted to finally be reunited after four years of separation.

“Our dear Dora never stopped looking for him,” a friend wrote on Facebook of their heartfelt reunion. “Who knows where he might have been for so long.”
Fortunately, Dora’s cat appeared to be relatively well fed and healthy despite such a long absence. No one knows where he has been for the past four years, but it is clear that he had eaten well during his travels.
