Just when you think you’ve seen it all in this lifetime, Mother Nature gives you another reason to wonder. This is the story of an unexpected gift from the universe given to Calgary resident Judith Nwokocha, originally from Nigeria.
In 2016, Judith gave birth to twins with different skin colors. When she first saw her little ones, dark-skinned boy Kamsi and albino girl Kachi, she just didn’t understand what was going on.
She decided something had gotten mixed up in motherhood and a strange girl was brought to her. Meet Judith Nwokocha, a photographer from Calgary, Canada, who received an unusual gift from mother nature.
“I thought they brought me the wrong kid. I waited for them to correct the mistake and give me my black daughter, but I only heard congratulations and nothing more,” says Judith.
“Slowly I realized it was my little one. There was a moment of confusion, but it quickly dissipated, especially when the nurses put the little ones on my chest. »
“Days turned into weeks and I started to wonder how society would view my little ones,” Judith continues. In Africa, albinos are bullied and not treated kindly, so I became worried. »
“Fortunately, we live in a more civilized country. And although people are surprised that my little ones are twins, the next reaction is kindness and admiration.
Yes, there have been many times my daughter has been made fun of, but she always gets a lot more love. And I keep reminding her that she is beautiful and unique. »
