Baby chimpanzee rescued from poachers learns to trust again

This ten-month-old chimpanzee hasn’t had much luck in life. His mother was killed by Cameroonian poachers, and he himself was chained for a long time in the hope of being sold as a pet.

The little animal rescued by animal rights activists did not allow anyone to touch it for a long time. And only after meeting his fellow tribesmen, the same rescued chimpanzees, he again remembered what friendship is and wanted affection.

The young chimpanzee was called Farah. He was so scared that any attempt to touch made him panic.

The people who freed Farah from her prison say that even an attempt to wrap her in a blanket for warmth and comfort immediately provoked a tantrum and became a deep psychological trauma for the chimpanzee.

Only three months after her rescue, after meeting other chimpanzees in the reserve, Farah began to unfreeze and seek out friendship – first her fellow tribesmen, then people.

Now Farah just doesn’t part with her friends Lori, Paula and Jenny, and demands that her best friend Lomi always be by her side.

Having become accustomed to the servants of the reserve and seeing that her friends were not afraid of them, Farah began to calmly accept the presence of people.

Non-profit organization Save the African Monkeys uploaded a video showing the four monkeys – Farah, Lori, Paula and Jenny – having fun playing in a special sports complex.
