US truck driver hits $298 million jackpot and quits his job
Having bought a cheap Powerball lottery ticket at a petrol station, American Dave Johnson, 56, did not expect it to end.
A simple trucker from Brooklyn has won the $298.3 million jackpot! “I’m rich and I’m not going to work anymore!” – said the lucky winner, receiving a well-deserved award.
A month ago, Brooklyn trucker Dave Johnson, 56, went to work in his work vehicle. The man went to the Arnold gas station, where he bought a regular Powerball lottery ticket with $5 in his pocket. Who knew what this random purchase would become?
Johnson did not feel well the next day and stayed home. He even forgot his lottery ticket until a colleague called him two days later.
He said someone bought the winning ticket at an Arnold gas station where the man was filling up. Then he decided to double check his ticket number and went there.
“I checked the numbers and thought, ‘Oh my God, my God, my God,'” the lucky man recalled.
After earning $298.3 million, the lucky man decided to quit his job immediately. He called his relatives and said, “I am rich, rich! I will never work again! »
The man only admitted to hitting the jackpot on January 2 this year for his own safety. The amount of money Johnson will receive after paying his taxes will be $114 million – with the money earned, the man plans to buy his dream – a red Porsche.
