Recently, a photo of a puppy after a walk has circulated on the net, in which he is completely dirty – except for the muzzle. Meet Onni, a five-month-old Samoyed who lives happily with his owners in Finland.
That day, owners Lotta and Miiro went for a regular walk with the puppy and his sister Ada – but didn’t expect Onni to return after long games with his sister.
“At first we were very surprised and imagined how long it would take to wash it, but then we noticed it looked so funny and decided to take a picture! – says the hostess.
“Unnie looks like this after every walk or game!” His muzzle stays clean because his fur is much shorter and dirt doesn’t stick to it,” the owner continues.
Samoyeds are distinguished by a “double” coat, which consists of a long guard hair and a thick, short, soft undercoat. Although Onni looks dirty after walking, her coat can clean itself. Homeowners just have to wait for the dirt to dry before cleaning it up.
The Samoyed is an ancient breed. For more than three thousand years, Samoyed dogs have been the companions of the northern tribes of the native peoples of Siberia. These dogs were used for reindeer herding, hunting and transportation.
