In early July, Samantha Russell was killed when a man trying to evade police crashed into her vehicle in Wichita, Kansas.
The 22-year-old mom-to-be was 33 weeks pregnant. Fortunately, thanks to paramedics who felt her unborn child was still alive, she was rushed to the hospital where her baby boy was born.
Seven weeks later, Mac Russell was able to return home with his father Brandon.
The latter shared the news on social media and thanked those who helped Mac become strong enough for him to return home.

After the fatal accident, Brandon had to mourn his high school sweetheart while celebrating the birth of his first child.
“She was amazing and everything I ever wanted or could ask for,” Brandon said.
Brandon occasionally shared updates about Mac’s condition on Facebook with his family and friends.
“Mac is doing pretty well. He is making progress every day,” he wrote three days after he was born. “Doctors don’t know how long he was without oxygen and after yesterday’s MRI they told me he had damage to some areas of the white matter in his brain. »
While mourning his wife, he also pledged to always be there for Mac.
“Of course, nothing will ever be the same again, but I still have a purpose in life,” he wrote on Facebook. “I find comfort in the fact that Mac is here with us in this crazy world and I am grateful that he is healthy. He will know everything there is to know about his mother”.
The man responsible for the crash that killed Samantha has been charged with first degree murder, aggravated battery, two counts of flight and escape, among other charges.
Mac, you are definitely a miracle baby, and I hope you know how much you are loved.
There is no doubt that your father and your family members will take the utmost care of you, and they will make sure that you know everything about your mother who was taken from you before you had the chance to know her.
