Heartbroken widower, father of 7, breaks down in tears when stranger tells him Christmas has come earlier than expected

Earlier this year, Dakota Nelson and his wife Ream were having fun in their garage. It was a day like any other, everything was fine.

But when Dakota returned after leaving to get something, her world was turned upside down. Ream was on the floor, unconscious. Her face was blue and she didn’t seem to be breathing.

Dakota immediately proceeds with CPR, while instructing the couple’s 11-year-old son to call 911. Rema’s brain was without oxygen for 20 minutes and, despite being in coma for several weeks, she finally died. Doctors still don’t know what caused his sudden passing…

Dakota was left alone to carry the family. He and Ream have seven children together, ages 1 to 16, and it’s also up to him to pay for the upkeep of the house.

Think about it. Not only is Dakota a grieving widower, but he’s also a father with immense responsibilities. He currently has three part-time jobs just to pay the bills.

But all hope was not lost…not entirely.

Anonymous donor

Anxious to spread Christmas cheer, an anonymous donor heard Dakota’s story and decided to help her in time for the holiday season.

Dakota received a note containing a rather special gift from a “Secret Santa”.

He had no idea that it was no less than 10,000 dollars. A sum that can certainly help Dakota in these difficult times.

Dakota, of course, was almost speechless. Tears flowed when he saw the numbers. We can only imagine what that means to him!

If you want to help Dakota in any way, head over to the GoFundMe page created by Ream’s sister. You can find it here.
