Four girls were on a quad when they hit an obstacle this Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Garchizy (Nièvre). The violence of the shock led to the death of the youngest, aged two, reports Le Journal du Center.
A family drama
The victim was in the vehicle with three little girls, aged 3, 6 and 9, all belonging to the same family of Travelers. The largest was on the handlebars and would have lost control of the machine.
She would have hit a nozzle, these large cylindrical conduits often made of concrete which make it possible to evacuate the water under a road or other.
All the girls belonged to the same family and were members of the Traveler community.
The child was first taken to the medical office of Fourchambault by his relatives, then transferred by the firefighters to the hospital center of Nevers. There, the medical staff tried to resuscitate her, but without success.
An investigation must make it possible to understand the precise circumstances of the accident, in particular concerning the place where it took place.
