The 36-year-old actor was found in the pool by two villa staff members, who pulled him out of the water. Efron’s representative confirmed to the media that he was hospitalized, but reassured that nothing serious happened and he is already feeling well. The exact cause of the incident has not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, journalists from the Daily Mail also reached out to the actor’s representative, inquiring why hospitalization was necessary if the issue was minor. The representative did not provide details on why Efron needed to be rescued from the pool but reiterated that the hospital visit was merely a precaution. It is also noted that prior to the incident, Zac Efron joined Dutch DJ Martin Garrix on stage during one of his performances. Over the past few weeks, the actor has been spending time in Ibiza and Europe. Two weeks ago, he spent a day on a yacht with friends in Ibiza after a recent trip to Saint-Tropez earlier in the month.
