Recently, friends of Bennifer informed the Daily Mail that 51-year-old Ben Affleck and 55-year-old Jennifer Lopez are set to divorce after their latest reconciliation attempt failed last month. According to multiple sources, the couple’s divorce papers have been prepared but not yet filed. This news follows reports of Affleck purchasing a new $20 million mansion in Pacific Palisades on Wednesday, July 24, the day Lopez turned 55. Lopez’s friends claim that Affleck’s sudden purchase of a bachelor pad on her birthday was a “blow to the heart” for her.
“They filed the divorce papers a month ago but are waiting for the right moment to submit them,” said a source close to the couple.
They will soon release a joint statement expressing how much they love each other and how they fought to make it work but ultimately could not. Honestly, they couldn’t reach a compromise. The feelings faded, and they both accepted it,” another source claimed.
The couple was last photographed together at a public event on March 30. Since then, they have spent the summer apart: Jennifer mostly on the East Coast and Ben staying at home in Los Angeles. J.Lo also took a solo vacation in Italy, and even on their second wedding anniversary, July 16, the stars were in different cities.
Reports of marital issues between Affleck and Lopez began spreading in May when sources close to the couple revealed that Ben had moved into a $100,000 rented apartment and that the pair planned to sell their “dream home.” Notably, Affleck’s rented house was just minutes away from his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s home in Brentwood. The couple was married from 2005 to 2018 and has three children: Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
Affleck and Lopez married in a small chapel in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, and held a lavish second ceremony the following month in Georgia. After a lavish “Bridgerton” themed party for Lopez’s 55th birthday, the artist thanked fans for their support, noting that they had become her greatest gift during her fragile state.
