The Hollywood couple raises six children while also engaging in philanthropy and achieving great success in film. However, recently, Angelina made a candid confession: her life could have turned out very differently.
“In my youth, I didn’t want to have children or be a mother! Everything changed when I first visited Cambodia in 2001. I was playing with children near a local school when I suddenly had a feeling that my son was nearby. It was a strange sensation, but I felt an overwhelming need to adopt one of those boys who were happily running around,” Jolie revealed in an interview. Two years after that fateful visit to Cambodia, once all the adoption paperwork was signed, Angelina became a mother for the first time.
“This country had a profound impact on me—it changed my views and my outlook on life. I was able to understand my purpose and have felt more confident ever since!” the Hollywood star shared.
Now, fate has brought the actress back to Cambodia, where she is directing the film “First They Killed My Father.” Moreover, Jolie’s eldest son, Maddox— the Cambodian boy who profoundly changed Angelina’s life— is participating in the film’s production. Notably, there are persistent rumors in the foreign press that Jolie is considering adopting another child from Cambodia.
