Houseboats are a common way of living in France, and there are plenty of them along the Seine. One of these floating houses was once owned by Pierre Richard. The actor converted the barge, which was anchored in the middle of Paris, into a cozy three-room home back in the 1980s.
However, Pierre Richard now resides in a more traditional setting. His spouse, 180-cm-tall Brazilian model Seyla Lacerda, decided to move since she felt the little yacht was a bit too small. The pair currently resides in a two-story apartment with a verdant rooftop garden.
It’s interesting to note that Seyla is nearly thirty years younger than her famous husband. After 20 years together with no intention of divorcing, the public has come to accept their union, despite the fact that it initially confused others.
Pierre Richard isn’t ready to call it quits and is still occasionally seen in major motion pictures. His most recent movie, Umami, which starred Richard and Gérard Depardieu, was released in 2021. The film explores the rivalry between French and Japanese chefs.
Richard costarred in the historical drama Jeanne du Barry in 2023 alongside Johnny Depp, Maïwenn Le Besco, Benjamin Lavernhe, and Noémie Lvovsky. In the movie, Richard portrays Cardinal Richelieu, a well-known mistress of King Louis XV.
These days, 11 countries import wine from Pierre Richard’s vineyard, and his bottles are served in French and Belgian eateries. At these restaurants, the actor would occasionally sign bottles that customers had purchased from his wine cellar.
In addition to wine, Pierre Richard has exceptional taste in eating. For many years, he has run a Michelin-starred French restaurant. In 2017, he co-wrote the book A Luxurious Dinner with Pierre Richard: Exclusive Recipes from Top Chefs with French-Russian author Elena Joli.
