An unprecedented story has been heard by rescuers and parents of Casey Hathaway, who lives in the US state of North Carolina. A little lost in the forest was guarded by a friendly bear!
Little Casey was playing with his sister and cousin in his great-grandmother’s garden on Tuesday, but his parents soon noticed he was gone. Concerned relatives searched the woods behind the house for nearly an hour before calling 911.
The police organized a large-scale search operation. 600 volunteers, FBI officers, Marines and divers combed the woods of eastern North Carolina in search of a missing toddler.
He wasn’t dressed warmly and it was winter outside. On the second day, the weather deteriorated and the authorities even had to interrupt the search operation. And it wasn’t until Thursday evening that rescuers received a message that a cry from the cub had been heard in the forest.
The little jelly called for his mother. To get there, you had to wade through the freezing water, which reached the chest of an adult! Rescuer Shane Greer found a cub stuck in thorny bushes and pulled him out of the forest. Fortunately, the little one was unharmed, only scratched.
Little Casey was admitted to the hospital, and he said incredible things! There was a friendly bear next to him all those days! Maybe he helped the little one to move to the island and not freeze?
