Evgeny, 33, is raising his son Misha, born with Down syndrome, on his own – his mother could not accept the little one’s diagnosis and left the family. The young dad started blogging on Instagram to inspire other parents who are going through a similar situation.
“I didn’t know what to do when I found out my son might have Down Syndrome. I thought that now my task was to turn off my emotions, turn my head and support my wife, because I thought it would be more difficult for her.
We were promised the results of the analysis in a few days, and until then I decided not to tell him anything, ”said Evgeny Bored Panda.
“I remember when I found out my son had Down syndrome, I left the hospital and cried. Then I was a little ashamed of those tears. After all, nothing has changed in my life.
I still had two arms, two legs, my professional knowledge had not disappeared. Everything happened as I expected, my son was born. But the child is special, his life and future fate will already be very different.
“That night I went home and started looking for information. I didn’t know anything about my son’s diagnosis. I learned that in Europe people with Down syndrome are well adapted to life in society, they can live and work without the help of someone else.
“I never thought of sending my son to an orphanage – it would be inhumane. »
“My wife and I have always had a good relationship of trust. There were other periods: difficulties, lack of money, separation.
I tried to convince her that we could overcome this obstacle. And this conflict tore us apart. Now I understand that she was just scared.
